Occupational Health Services
The occupational health services provider will ensure the provision of health care, which is delivered by healthcare facilities in cooperation with the employer.
The aim of this occupational health care is to prevent work-related harm to employees’ health, to improve their health status, to enhance or, where appropriate, maintain medical fitness for work, and to ensure the long-term preservation of work ability.
The area of occupational health services is defined by Act No. 373/2011 Sb., on Specific Health Services (Section 53), and by Decree No. 79/2013 Sb., on Occupational Health Services and Certain Types of Medical Assessment Care, as amended.
Comprehensive services
Occupational health services are preventive health services and include three components:
- carrying out occupational health assessments and evaluating health status for the purpose of assessing medical fitness for work,
- advisory services focused on protecting health at work and on preventing occupational injuries, occupational diseases, and work-related illnesses,
- regular inspection of the workplace and other employer's facilities and work performance.
These three components of occupational health services must always be provided.
- Occupational health assessments
- We provide pre-employment, periodic, special and exit medical assessments.
- We record and organise these assessments and maintain a schedule of statutory deadlines.
- We perform both basic and specialist examinations.
- The scope of the medical assessment is defined by legislation and differs depending on the category of risk factors present in the workplace.
- During occupational health assessments, employees are provided with health education and consultation services.
- Specialist advisory services
- We provide comprehensive advice in the field of occupational health services as required by Section 2(b) of Decree No. 79/2013 Sb.
- We offer consultations on ergonomics and work physiology, including advice on work–rest regimes (the organisation of working hours).
- We prepare proposals for the categorisation of work in accordance with the Public Health Protection Act, and, where applicable, for re-categorisation based on changes in the workplace.
- We offer legislative consultancy in the field of occupational health services.
- We provide training in workplace ergonomics.

Our first aid training is delivered in the form of an interactive e-learning course, focusing on basic life-saving first aid procedures. Upon request, we can also arrange a live first aid course delivered by a physician or a professionally trained instructor.
- We prepare a proposal for the contents of a first aid kit.
- Workplace inspection
- Public health protection professionals carry out inspections at the employer’s facilities.
- The purpose of workplace inspections is to identify and assess risk factors, and they are carried out at all of the employer’s workplaces (branches).
- We carry out workplace inspections at intervals required by legislation. Consideration is given to the health demands of the work performed and the nature of conditions at the employer’s workplaces.
- As part of workplace inspections, indicative measurements of physical risk factors in the working environment are carried out (lighting levels, air temperature and humidity, noise, etc.), together with checks of the contents and placement of first aid kits in the workplace.
- A record is made of the inspection carried out, including an assessment of working and hygienic conditions at the workplace and in staff catering facilities and other employer-operated facilities.
- The record includes proposed measures and recommendations, and the employer is informed of the conclusions of the inspection in writing.
- The assessment of working environment factors is carried out by an internal team of specialists, ensuring consistency in evaluation.
We issue an annual certificate to all clients using our comprehensive services, confirming the provision of occupational health services by our company. This certificate remains valid for the term of the agreement between the two parties.

Inspection services
Workplace and work activity inspections are carried out for the purpose of identifying and assessing risk factors, in accordance with Section 2 of Decree No. 79/2013 Sb., on occupational health services and certain types of medical assessment care, as amended.
Legislation allows occupational health services to be provided by more than one provider. If your current provider offers only medical examinations, you can use our services for workplace inspections.
The purpose of workplace inspections is to identify and assess workplace risk factors directly on site. The factors monitored include, for example, dust, noise, vibration, microclimatic conditions, the level of physical workload, and others. We carry out indicative measurements of lighting levels, air temperature, and humidity.
The outcome of the workplace inspection is a written record of the inspection carried out, which includes proposals for addressing the identified deficiencies. These recommendations are important for employers in protecting and promoting the health of their employees.
The record is important both for the employer (as part of the occupational health service required by legislation and subject to inspection by the public health authority) and for the physician who assesses employees’ fitness for work.
The intervals for carrying out workplace inspections are determined by legislation, in relation to work categorisation and occupational risks.
Workplace inspections are carried out by qualified professionals, and the record is approved by a physician.

Work categorisation
If required and at your request, we will prepare a work categorisation.
This is a comprehensive assessment of the level of exposure to factors that are decisive, from a health perspective, for the quality of working conditions. Work categorisation is governed by Act No. 258/2000 Sb., on the protection of public health, as amended. Under this Act, employers are required to classify work into four categories according to the level of exposure to risk factors that may affect employees’ health in the workplace. The classification of work into categories is carried out in accordance with the implementing regulation (Ministry of Health Decree No. 432/2003 Sb.).
The categories are defined in Section 3 of Decree No. 432/2003 Sb.
- Category 1 includes work for which, according to the current state of knowledge, an adverse effect on health is unlikely
- Category 2 includes work for which, according to the current state of knowledge, adverse effects on health may be expected only exceptionally, and primarily in susceptible individuals
- Category 3 includes work in which hygienic limits are exceeded and where the use of personal protective equipment, organisational measures, and other protective measures is necessary to ensure the protection of health
- Category 4 includes work involving a high risk to health that cannot be completely eliminated even through the use of available and applicable protective measures
Where work involves several risk factors, an overall category is determined. The overall category corresponds to the category of the highest-rated factor.
The employer shall ensure that the levels of individual working environment factors are measured and assessed by an accredited laboratory. Work classified in Category 1 does not need to be reported to any authority. If work is classified in Category 2, the employer shall notify the Regional Public Health Authority. Assignment of work to Category 3 or 4 is decided by the Regional Public Health Authority, which issues a Decision.
