As part of our orthopaedic outpatient clinic, we perform preventive examinations of the paediatric hip joint to rule out congenital abnormalities and any associated complications.
How the Examination Works
Hip ultrasound in infants is performed for the purpose of early detection of a condition known as developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH).
The examination is carried out within the first 6 weeks of the child's life, followed by 2–3 follow-up checks until the appearance of ossification centres in the hips.
An appointment must be booked in advance by phone at 257 321 593.
The price of the service is governed by the current price list.
